Raeburn Winery

Derek Benham, son of a passionate naturalist, Phyllis Benham; founded Raeburn Winery in honour of Phyllis with a mission to protect the thriving and diverse watersheds of the Russian River Valley she so loved and provide a safe habitat for grapes and creatures alike. As a further nod to Phyllis, the brand honours the graceful egret on the label, a common sight along local waterways.

Phyllis' way of life is to leave a light footprint, or none at all and so the winery has adopted the same approach when making Raeburn wines, a task made easier because they carefully select wonderful fruit from Sonoma county's best vineyards. Rather than engineer, they guide the grapes toward the best version of themselves. Raeburn is made in a Certified California Sustainable Winery. Their system and set of beliefs reflect the best practices of sustainable production including mindful winemaking and low impact farming.
